Conferences and Forums

In 2009, Mental Health America celebrated its 100 year anniversary, an historic milestone as the 2nd oldest public health organization in America.  We worked with the organization to create a year-long centennial celebration that honored its great tradition and set a course for the future.  

Results:

• Created an exciting conference and gala to reflect the organization’s historic impact
• Built an Honorary Committee that included Mrs. Tipper Gore as the Chair
• Established the Legacy Award that honored Senators Dominici and Kennedy for their work on the passage of Mental Health Parity
• Developed a 3-day conference program, national marketing and media plan, and engaged a wide range of sponsorships
• The conference was the most successful in the organization’s history, doubling attendance, and attracting world renowned journalists, national leaders, and celebrities including George Stephanopoulos, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Glenn Close, First Lady Rosalynn Carter and Mrs. Tipper Gore.

We have produced annual International and National Summits on Mental Health for stakeholders developing the 3-day conference schedule and providing the latest information on research, advocacy, technology, and public policy issues. 

Results: 

• Secured world renowned scientists and researchers, technology experts, political leaders, health journalists, and patient advocates to speak
• Developed the annual themes, conference objectives and goals, and format
• Marketed and advertised conference to target audiences, and through new and traditional media channels
• Developed media and advocacy training sessions
