Jennifer Devlin

JenniferJennifer Devlin has more than 25 years experience in strategic planning, communications, writing, and media relations.  From 1997 to 1999, she served in the White House as Director of Communications to Tipper Gore and as Press Secretary in the Office of the Vice President.  Previously, she served as Vice President of Media Relations for Susan Davis International, a nationally-recognized public relations firm, overseeing client relations, communications strategy and a staff of twenty media specialists.

Jennifer has managed national health campaigns, worked with a broad range of policy groups to develop visibility and media attention for events, individuals and organizations, created materials and outreach strategies to translate complex policy concepts into media- and public-friendly messages, and created development strategies for large-scale events.  Her work has led to the development of strong relationships with policymakers, government leaders, NGOs and media in the political, health care (including mental health), technology, defense, and education fields.  Recently, Jennifer and Colleen worked with Mental Health America to organize and plan a memorable 100 year anniversary celebration, which included a star studded gala and conference featuring world renowned leaders, and media activities to honor the organization’s historic legacy.

An expert writer, Jennifer’s authored articles and opinion editorials have appeared in Newsweek, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun, and many more publications.  An accomplished speechwriter, she has authored speeches for numerous heads of state, including the President and Vice President of the United States, the President of Iceland, media personalities Mike Wallace, Ted Koppel and Peter Jennings, and numerous other VIP speakers.  She has scripted high profile events ranging from the Nobel Prize for the Environment to the Dedications of the FDR Memorial, Women’s Memorial, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and National Japanese American Memorial.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Speech Communications and Radio, Television and Motion Picture.  She is listed in Who’s Who in Industry and Finance and Who’s Who of American Women.
