Taking Health Global
There is an explosion of health 2.0 sites and social media empowering and building patient communities and organizations online. Taking Health Global is a public health nonprofit organization we built and operate to help national and international organizations learn about and leverage health 2.0 tools and other new media digital strategies to advance health education and advocacy.
Taking Health Global:
- Conducts research and tracks online global health including: health organization's knowledge and use of social media and digital tools; impact of patient communities using social media to gain access to treatment, increase funding for research, and share personal health information; trends in online health 2.0 and health information technology
- Provides strategy and training to public and private sector organizations on leveraging social media and online advocacy tools to advance global health policies, research funding, and access to health care
- Develops online/social media campaigns for national and international public and private sector health organizations
